Last night Uberglam hosted their annual student fashion show to showcase the work of their up and coming designers. Mieke (12 yrs) had the opportunity to debut her very first collection called Sizzle Tweenz under her own label ALL THINGS NICE.
All designers, regardless of age, had to do their own fashion illustration, pattern design, cutting and sewing of garments. They had to do model castings, alteration of garments, choose accessories, direct hair and make-up styles with the professional stylists and see to the dressing of models before taking to the ramp.
What a professional and sleek event and what a privilege to be part of it.

I could not recommend a better school for learning the practical skills to becoming a fashion designer. I love how the courses are structured and how patient, professional and helpful Lelanie and her assistants are with the students.

Not only can I now create absolutely anything I have in mind from scratch, but my work has reached a level of being incredibly neat and especially well made.

I have learned so much and I cannot wait to launch my own clothing line. Thank you for making me the designer that I am today!

This is an excellent sewing school for beginners and for sewers wanting to enhance their skills and knowledge. Having attended UberGlam for a year, I developed exceptional sewing skills that I can now comfortably use in a business. Having attended 2 other schools I can comfortably say this is an excellent school. No matter what you want to learn they will help you step by step all the way. They have sewing machines and over lockers for every student to use as well as spacious work desks where you can sew. You learn everything here, from pattern drafting to the final stages of garment construction. The school is organized, in a safe environment and has a high level of cleanliness and safety protocols during Covid. I would say this is by far the best sewing school in Johannesburg and highly recommended. Their pricing structure for different programs is also very reasonable for what you get out.

A lot has happened for Zuri Couture since my graduation at your academy. We officially launched our business to the public at your fashion show and have grown substantially. We now have 2 brands that we design and make clothing for, and we have also launched a project called FashionEASTa. Our plan for next year is to open our first store .
